Kalan Akitas moved to its new home in Berks County, Pennsylvania in January, 2003. Akita Acres is approximately 6.8 acres of mostly woodlands with a pond, creek, and lots of wildlife. Our favorite wildlife is, of course, our akitas.
Dogless for many years, I was introduced to Akitas by a friend and I started showing a new puppy for him. Spending time with the akita made me realize that it was way passed time to have my own dog again. We purchased our first akita in 1999 and have been "hooked" ever since. There is nothing like an akita. The akita is a proud, independent thinker who loves to hunt, play, and enjoy life. Not for everyone, the Akita is very protective of his family and property. For this reason, the akita is best maintained in a strong, fenced yard to keep them from protecting areas you want accessible to strangers and friends.
Please come on inside our site and visit the dog's pages to see their accomplishments to date. Sign the guest book so we'll know who has been visiting or drop us an e-mail if you'd like to talk Akita.
Proud member of the Akita Club of America, Garden State Akita Club, and the Berks County Kennel Club.
